Campus Partner Grants for Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research is proud to partner with on-campus Living-Learning Communities and the Office of Sustainability to provide grants that increase access and engagement in research for students affiliated with communities. The Undergraduate Research Campus Partner Grant provides salary funding for students conducting faculty-mentored research. 

2025-2026 Application Cycles

Fall Deadline:  October 21, 2025 by 5:00 pm

Award Announcement Date: by December 13, 2025

Grant Duration: January 2026 through December 2026

Spring Deadline:  March 24, 2026 by 5:00 pm

Award Announcement Date: by May 1, 2026

Grant Duration: June 2026 through May 2026

 

Grant Information

Undergraduate Research Community Partner Grants are awarded up to $1,500 per 12 month period to support faculty-mentored research. 

Students do not have to apply for the full amount to be considered for a grant and may aply to URCP grants at the same time as they are receiving or applying for other Undergraduate Research grants. 

Preference is given to students with a record of engagement within the community.

Students may not submit a proposal during the semester of graduation and must be enrolled for one full semester after the award date of the grant. 

 


Campus Partners and Eligibility Guidelines

• first- and second-year undergraduate Capstone Scholars AND Capstone Fellows, in good standing
• for projects in collaboration with a faculty or staff mentor 
• available to all majors for research and scholarly or creative projects

• Galen Health Fellows in good standing 
• for projects in collaboration with a faculty or staff mentor 
• funds research, scholarly and creative projects focusing on some aspect of a health issue or topic

• undergraduate current or former Global Fellows students in good standing 
• for projects in collaboration with a faculty or staff mentor 
• funds research, scholarly and creative projects

• active undergraduate members of the Green Quad or Sustainable Carolina community in good standing 
• for projects in collaboration with a faculty or staff mentor that focus on a sustainable topic or issue.
• funds research, scholarly and creative projects

• undergraduate current or former Preston College residents in good standing 
• for projects in collaboration with a faculty or staff mentor 
• funds research, scholarly and creative projects

• active undergraduate members of the Rhodos Fellows program whether as a first year, returner, or Colossus Scholar in good standing 
• for projects in collaboration with a faculty or staff mentor related to the Rhodos mission in information, design, and computing
• funds creative, scholarly, and research activities

 

Application Process

1 Complete the Undergraduate Research Campus Partners application  Includes sections for project overview, research compliance, research abroad and budget
2 Have your mentor complete the Mentor Collaboration Form  If you have a secondary mentor, have them complete the Secondary Mentor Form [doc]. Both forms should be mailed to our@sc.edu. 
NOTE: graduate students are permitted as daily advisers and secondary mentors but are not eligible to be the primary mentor for a project.
3 Submit the online application form

Select "Undergraduate Research Grants" from the menu.
