Effective May 6, 2021, to be considered a 'qualified individual' the benefit user
                                       (veteran or dependent) is no longer required to begin attendance within three of the
                                       veteran's separation date. This goes into effect for Summer 2021.
                                    Effective August 1st, 2022, non-resident students who are receiving Chapter 35 Dependents
                                       Educational Assistance and reside in South Carolina while attending classes are entitled
                                       to pay in-state tuition and fees.
                                    According to SC Code of Laws Section 59-112-50, veterans (and dependents) who are
                                       enrolled at S.C. public institutions of higher education and receive education assistance
                                       under Chapter 30, Chapter 31 or Chapter 33, Title 38, of the U. S. Code are entitled
                                       to pay in-state tuition and fees without regard to the length of time the covered
                                       individual has resided in this state.

                                    If you are an undergraduate student on active duty with an assignment in South Carolina
                                       or have South Carolina residency, a member of the National Guard or a reservist, you
                                       qualify for a tuition discount.
