The USC Palmetto College AI Innovation Lab Network is transforming access to artificial intelligence education and digital resources for South Carolina communities. Through a network of innovation labs, the initiative provides free training in AI tools, as well as Mac software and certification programs to residents who may have limited or no access to such opportunities. 

The network includes a central hub and satellite labs located at USC Palmetto College campuses in Lancaster, Kershaw, Allendale, Walterboro, Sumter, Union, Laurens and Clinton, with a new lab opening in Fort Jackson in November 2025 to serve military service members, veterans, dependents and Department of Defense personnel. 

These regional campuses are strategically positioned within 15 miles or less of broadband deserts, according to the South Carolina Broadband Map, ensuring that underserved communities gain reliable access to technology, internet connectivity and AI education. 

The rebranding from iCarolina Labs to the AI Innovation Lab Network reflects a broader mission to advance student preparedness, community learning and workforce readiness in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
