Matylda is a first-year History PhD student specializing in modern US history. Originally from Poland, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (2025). She is primarily interested in the topic of women’s roles in right-wing extremist groups in Cold War America.

During her undergraduate studies, Matylda’s research focused on the dynamics of a white supremacist group centered around Instauration Magazine, found in Florida in the second half of the 20th century. Interested in Holocaust denial and how it has historically been used as an extremist propaganda tool, she has been involved in a number of programs related to Holocaust studies and remembrance, including Preparing Ambassadors to Teach about the Holocaust (PATH) and the History, Interrupted Project, which she was the founder and director of. She has also worked with Polish public history and advocacy institutions, such as the Galicia Jewish Museum and the NEVER AGAIN Association.

Outside of her primary research, she is fascinated with almost every topic there is to explore within US history, with one of her more specific interests being the history and culture of the Vietnamese American community.
