Anna grew up in the Columbia area. As a First-Generation college graduate, she earned a BSW from Columbia College, and an MSW from USC. Following graduate school she moved to Hiroshima, Japan to start her career in higher education and social work. She supported the Global Studies, Peace, and Leadership Seminars at Hiroshima Jogakuin University as Program Coordinator and Fieldwork Faculty. The Seminar series brought students and young professionals from around the world to learn from survivors of the atomic bomb about their experiences in health, social, and economic recovery.

She has traveled to thirteen countries so far, including Iceland where she hiked to a waterfall and got married. Anna is always looking for opportunities to travel the globe and meet new people. She lives in Elgin with her husband, James, and their rambunctious pets. She loves cooking, gardening, and travel planning.
