Are you self-confident and composed, even in difficult situations? Are you good at explaining things clearly and, more importantly, in a way that earns trust? If so, you could be destined for public relations.

You will refine your skills in writing, strategy, leadership, crisis planning and management, creativity, problem solving and conflict resolution. You'll also get hands-on experience working with clients in our community through experiential learning in the classroom, our student-run agency and national competition teams.

What You’ll Study

After you complete Carolina Core and foundational requirements, you'll learn how to create a campaign, write a press release, manage an event and engage the public in your cause. Choose from dozens of other classes to customize your education such as a concentration in sports media. Seniors spend a semester building a public relations campaign for a real client.
