Daughter Date Night

Each year, the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing invites middle school girls and a parent or trusted adult to Daughter Date Night, a free, interactive evening designed to spark curiosity, confidence and excitement about engineering and computing.

This special event introduces girls to what engineers do, how engineering impacts everyday life and the many pathways into engineering and computing careers.

What other expect

Daughter Date Night is hosted this year by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), whose members will guide students and guests through an inspiring and engaging evening.

The program includes:

  • What Is Engineering?
    A welcoming, age-appropriate introduction to engineering and computing, led by SWE students.
  • Real Stories from Real Engineers
    SWE members share how they discovered engineering, their paths to college, and what it’s like to be a woman studying engineering today.
  • Industry Perspectives
    Representatives from our corporate partner share their own journeys into engineering and how their work impacts the world.
  • Hands-On Engineering Challenge
    Students and their adult “date” work together in a fun, friendly engineering design competition that encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Dinner & Conversation
    Guests enjoy a complimentary dinner while connecting with current engineering students, professionals, and other families.

Space is limited and participation is open only to middle school-aged girls accompanied by one adult.
