R. Douglas Graham

Doug Graham was a Professor of Clarinet at the University of South Carolina. He holds a graduate degree in clarinet performance from the University of Texas. He played as the South Carolina Philharmonic's principal clarinetist, and a featured soloist and chamber musician in the Columbia area.

In the summer of 1997, Mr. Graham was clarinet soloist with the Performing Arts Orchestra, a professional touring ensemble in Great Britain. He has performed as soloist with the South Carolina Philharmonic, the South Carolina Chamber Orchestra, the USC Chamber Orchestra, the Spartanburg Symphony Orchestra, the Hendersonville Symphony, and the USC Symphonic Bands. In his solo appearances, he has presented, among others, the works of Mozart, Goodwin, Copland, Glazunov, Weber, Corigliano, Rossini, Warschauer, and Basset.

Mr. Graham has served as clinician, conductor, adjudicator, and soloist with school and community bands and orchestras throughout the Southeast. He was heard regularly in faculty concerts on the USC campus and was an active studio, jazz, and commercial musician as a member of the Dick Goodwin Jazz Quintet and the Columbia Jazz Society.
