Katie Bono is the coordinator for the Spark: Music Leadership Team and with the Music Admissions Team at the University of South Carolina. She is an alumna of USC with her Bachelor's degree in Music Education and enjoys working at her alma mater.

Before her employment at the school of music, Katie was band director at Pleasant Hill Middle School. During her time there, she had students place in District, Region and All-State Bands, and she created and implemented the 6th Grade Arts Extravaganza event. She also assisted the Lexington High School marching band as a flute and field technician. She worked with several other middle and high schools in the Columbia area as a flute technician and teaching masterclasses before her time at Pleasant Hill. 

Katie is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the South Carolina Music Educators Association, and a member of the South Carolina Band Directors Association. She is an alumna of the Epsilon Alpha chapter of Tau Beta Sigma and of the Carolina Band. She is also an active member of her church, where she teaches Cherub Choir and sings in the Chancel Choir. In her spare time, Katie enjoys trying new recipes, watching documentaries and reading a good book.
